Kitwe Public Library Receives Book Donations

Kitwe online has donated assorted books and Road safety instruction videos worth thousands of Kwacha to Kitwe City Council Public Library at the City Square.

The books were formally presented to the Librarian by this writer on behalf of the KitweOnline Management on 13th June, 2013.

Mr Simon Nkhoma, the Chief Librarian received the books on behalf of the Town Clerk. Mr Nkhoma thanked Kitwe Online for the good corporate social responsibility. He called upon other Zambians locally and abroad to emulate Kitwe Online. He said that the value that is stored in books goes for generations, as the information contained in books is used over and over by readers and researchers at different times of human endeavour.

He said that the donation will go a long way in helping to build the library book stock.

Speaking on a lighter note, Mr Nkhoma said that the voluminous World Atlas that was one of the books donated, could probably be the largest single book to be found in any library in Zambia and Kitwe Public Library is proud to own that book.
