If Only We Could
by Boyd Kaimbi Chibale
I hear a voice calling,
Thunder howling
Screaming to my heart,
Deafening my ears
Increasing my tears,
My fears.
I hear a voice calling,
Far in the wilderness with bitterness,
anguish
I hear a voice calling
Of rape, incest, defilement,
The voice is against.
Of child labour, torture, cruelty
The voice is against.
Of illiteracy, injustice, poverty
The voice is against
Of hunger, homelessness, illness
The voice is against.
Of war, terrorism, violence
The voice is against.
Of insecurity, corruption, racism
The voice is against.
Of xenophobia, anarchy, nepotism
The voice is against.
