Caitlin has been described as a bold, adventurous performer on stage. She has taken the Southern hemisphere by storm with her electric violin skills.
Born in Chingola in 1989, Caitlin Papier grew up in Kitwe. She attended Lechwe Education Trust School, graduating with A Levels. In 2007 she moved to South Africa and is now based in Cape Town.
With the encouragement of her granny and parents, she is a self-taught violinist. Her specialty is the electric violin, although she can play the saxophone as well. She is a big fan of Vanessa Mae.
She has performed with the prestigious World Youth Symphony Orchestra (USA). She has also performed at big events for three former Zambian presidents and for His Royal Highness, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester. She also performed at the launch of the Zain Group across 14 African countries. In 2008, she performed at the opening of the South African Parliament. Across Africa she has performed for presidents and dignitaries, and she has thrilled audiences with her energetic performances.
She is no stranger to Zambian performances, having performed for Atlas Copco, Arcades Shopping Center, Business Enterprise Exhibition, Celtel, Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage, Copperbelt Mining, Agricultural and Commercial Show Society (2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008), Luanshya Copper Mines and Sun International Zambia.
Caitlin will be performing at the Sun Hotel in Livingstone on 22-23 April, 2011.
