Charles Malata

KitweOnline is proud to announce that Dr Charles Malata has been appointed as a Professor at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, in UK.

This follows his outstanding work as a Consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Professor Malata has an active academic and clinical research programme. His work has positively impacted clinical practice with the introduction of a modern breast reconstructive surgery service at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He is credited with the establishment of Addenbrooke’s as a leading microvascular surgery centre in the UK.

In 1998 he set up and and continues to run a private Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship to provide registrar-level trainees with intensive training in breast cosmetic surgery for 6-12 month periods. He continues to train  undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Apart from authoring book chapters, he has written numerous review articles, journal abstracts and peer-reviewed manuscripts on breast reconstruction in men and women.

Professor Malata is President of the European Society for Surgical Research and is a reviewer for scientific journals. He also sits on the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Surgical Research.
